︎ Behind the cover: In this video you'll see many rough sketches submitted for this cover, including a few with glitches, fragmented faces, head shells and variations of brains and lighting effects. Addiction as a subject has very negative connotations but NatGeo covers are generally positive. It was important for this to have a balance and remove negative energy or emotion. Only the lit up neurons have a hint of menace.
